Abstract
Treatment of the unsymmetric disilane (SiH3) (SiMeBut 2) (1) containing one Si-Si single bond with Pt(dcpe) (PEt3)2 (dcpe = Cy2PCH2CH2PCy2) in the ratio of 1:1 leads to a stable disilanylplatinum hydride complex {(SiH2) (SiMeBut 2)}(H)- PtII(dcpe) (2), which is one of the very few examples of bis(phosphine) (hydrido) platinum(II) complexes bearing silyl ligands with Si-Si single bonds structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray analysis and multinuclear NMR spectroscopic studies.
