摘要
Merely online interaction through the social network have can not meet the needs of users. Nowadays, some social network sites that combine both online and offline interactions are emerging, such as Douban. We studied this kind of offline events based on Douban. We analyzed the event properties, the behaviors of participants and wishers to the Douban events, and the influence between online and offline events. We collected 6545 events, nearly 100 000 users in 44 days. With the combination of questionnaires with active users and experiments over the dataset collected, we find that online social interactions enhance the participation of offline events, and offline events also promoted user connections online. Our findings are significant for numerous applications such as mobile advertising, real-world event organization, and friend recommendation.
