Simulation for the influences of explosive amount on explosive welding of two-layer tubes

摘要

To understand the process of two-layer tube explosive welding, a 3D finite element model of the explosive welding of steel-copper two-layer tubes is established on the platform of ANSYS/LS-DYNA. This model is utilized to investigate the influences of explosive dosage on bonding interface, pressure on the flyer tube and its velocity and kinetic energy after being verified. Results show that if the pressure on the flyer tube and its velocity are not enough in case of too little explosive, the flyer tube could not obtain necessary kinetic energy for bonding. The pressure, kinetic energy and velocity increase rapidly when the colliding happens, and decrease rapidly to zero after the collision.
