Ripple Suppression of Multi-Phase Converter under Switch Fault for Fuel Cell Application Based on Phase Shift Reconfiguration

摘要

The multi-phase converter with low current ripple has been widely used for fuel cell (FC) applications. However, despite the continuous operation of the converter, the switch fault would increase the input current ripple immensely, which is undesired for the long-term operation of the FC stack. To this end, in this paper, the method of phase shift reconfiguration is proposed to suppress the input current ripple of multi-phase converters under switch faults. The objective function of the input current ripple has been derived, and the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is adopted to calculate the optimal phase shift angles relating to the minimum current ripple, which are then sent to the converter for reconfiguration. The simulation results are provided to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
