Preparation of magnetic Ce3+-imprinted Chitosan/yeast composites and selective adsorption of Ce3+

摘要

A novel magnetic Ce3+-imprinted chitosan/yeast composites (MICCs) were synthesized and applied to selectively adsorb cerium ions from aqueous solutions. The characteristics of MICCs were analyzed using methods such as XRD and SEM. The results indicate that MICCs have high magnetic separation (17.57 emu/g) and rougher surface. Batch adsorption experiments were carried out to investigate the adsorption kinetics, isotherm, and selective properties of MICCs. The results demonstrate that MICCs have a fast adsorption capacity, and higher selectivity for cerium ions than other metal ions such as Co2+ and Cr3+. The adsorption of Ce3+ onto MICCs follows the pseudo-second-order kinetics model and can be well described by the Freundlich isotherm model.
