摘要
A fluoride-containing anodic oxide layer with oriented porous structure coated Ti-50Al intermetallic can be fabricated by anodizing in sulfuric acid (H2SO4) solution containing a small quantity of hydrofluoric acid (HF). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis reveals that the porous anodic oxide layer consists mainly of TiO2, Al2O3, titanium fluoride and aluminum fluoride. Cyclic oxidation tests indicate that all Ti-50Al samples anodized in fluorine-containing electrolyte exhibit outstanding oxidation resistance with little or even no scale spallation at 800 °C. The improvement of oxidation resistance is mainly attributed to the fluorine effect and the oriented porous structure of anodic oxide layer.
