Numerical simulation and lift loss assessment for a scaled S/VTOL aircraft proximity of the ground

摘要

During the S/VTOL aircraft taking off proximity of the ground, both suckdown and fountain effects occur which will induce the lift loss. Moreover, the hot gas ingestion can also make the temperature at the front of the compressor distortion thus reducing the lift produced by the cruise engine. The effects above-mentioned were studied in this paper. The flow field was calculated with FLUENT, using unstructured grid for a scaled aircraft which has two impinge jets proximity of the ground and also the lift loss was assessed. The flow field and the lift loss characteristic were got by the numerical simulation. The temperature distribution on the ground and the pressure distribution under the fuselage and the wing at various heights, headwind speeds were studied for the scaled S/VTOL aircraft model.
