Modeling of Underwater Electromagnetic Communication Channel Near the Seabed Based on the Goos - Hänchen Shift

摘要

Electromagnetic (EM) wave is one of the effective carriers to realize communication between nodes of seabed observation network. However, due to the complexity of computational models, there are few targeted communication channel models in existing studies. In this paper, a modeling method for underwater EM wave propagation near the seabed is proposed based on the Goos-Hänchen (GH) shift. The results of this model's numerical simulation are in good agreement with those of the traditional two-layer media model. The derivation process of this method corresponds to the EM wave propagation process and has a clear physical meaning. Additionally, the channel responses are obtained. The channel model presented in this paper has important value for underwater EM communication near the seabed.
