摘要

Laser Solid Forming (LSF) has been considered as a significant and promising technology to fabricate functionally graded materials. A rapidly solidified binary Nickel-Titanium graded material was fabricated by a CO 2 laser solid forming equipment, using argon as the protecting gas. The compositional gradient in the graded alloy was changed from pure Ni to Ni-35at.%Ti in a thin-wall sample with the height of 24 mm. The results of SEM and EDS analysis showed that a series of phase evolutions, γ dendrite+ (γ+γ′) eutectic→ η platelet + (η+Ni 3Ti2) eutectic → (η+Ni3Ti2) eutectic, along the graded direction with the increasing of Ni content. Phase formation and microstructure evolution was analyzed.
