Initial Rotor Position Estimation for Brushless Electrically Excited Synchronous Starter/generator Based on Time Division Signal Injection

摘要

This article proposes a novel approach for estimating the initial rotor position for brushless electrically excited synchronous starter/generator (BESSG). Based on time division signal injection (TDSI) and excitation current estimation, the initial rotor position can be determined quickly by injecting positive pulse signals into the β-axis and α-axis of stator of main generator (MG) in a timed manner once. The proposed method does not require multiple signal injections into the MG with nor identifying the N-pole and S-pole. The effectiveness and feasibility are verified by experimental results.
