High critical current density in Ti-doped MgB2/Ta/Cu tape by powder-in-tube process

摘要

The dense Ti-doped MgB2/Cu tapes with Ta as a buffer layer were prepared using in situ powder-in-tube method. The tapes were sintered at 900-950°C for 2-3 hours in argon, and superconducting properties, structure and microstructure results were presented. It was found that Ti doping enhanced the flux pinning, and high critical density values were obtained in Mg0.9Ti0.1B2 tape. Microstructure analysis showed that the tapes with Ti doping were dense and consisted of fine MgB2 particles, with a thin layer of TiB2 and MgO nanoparticles.
