Experimental investigation on effects of kerosene temperature on detonation wave formation

摘要

Using kerosene as fuel and air as oxidizer, two-phase detonation experiments were successfully conducted on a PDE model with its diameter 30 mm. Fully developed repetitive C-J detonation waves were obtained in the experiments. Under stoichiometric ratio, various frequencies and fuel temperatures, the detonation pressures in the tube were measured, and the factors influencing detonation pressures were analyzed. The experimental results have shown that under stoichiometric ratio and for a given frequency, detonation initiations are promoted remarkably by means of increasing kerosene temperature. It's found that successful two-phase pulse detonations can be achieved in tubes with the diameters less than cell sizes of mixtures.
