摘要

Thermal pushing forming is an effective technology of manufacture for bending pipes. In order to get the products of uniform wall thickness, a commercial software, Superform of MSC, is used to simulate the thermal pushing of Titanium bending pipes. The effects of Archimedes Parameter on the simulation of thermal pushing of Ti bending pipes have been analyzed in this paper by using different Archimedes coefficients for the expanded diameter section. It is found that it benefits the metal flowing uniformity from the concave to the convexity by using gradual Archimedean spiral for the expanded diameter section, avoiding the increase of inner wall thickness and the decrease of outer wall thickness during pipe bending. The difference of ring wall thickness is smaller when the Archimedes coefficient a is 0.9; but it is easy to corrugate and to be thinner for the wall thickness when a is 1.3. The optimal Archimedes coefficient a is 1.0 according to this study.
