摘要

Polyarylacetylene (PAA) resin has been developed for new ablative materials since it offers high char yield and low moisture absorbability. However, PAA resin has poor cohesion to carbon fibers, which leads to low mechanical properties of the carbon cloth reinforced composite. A carbon cloth reinforced PAA ablative material with high mechanical properties performance is prepared through the use of phenolic resins in this work. The results showed that the ablative performance of the carbon cloth reinforced PAA composite is better than that of C/phenolic materials (C/PF) with low O2-C2H2 erosion and mass loss of 0.004mm/s and 0.0168g/s respectively. However, the mechanical properties of the carbon cloth reinforced PAA composite were poor with a shear strength merely 5.4MPa and flexural strength merely 135MPa. The composite improved by the phenolic resins exhibited excellent mechanical properties and good ablative properties, the shear strength of the composite is enhanced by 139% from 5.4MPa to 12.9 MPa, and the O2C2H2 erosion and mass loss of the composite is 0.004mm/s and 0.0168g/s respectively.
