Analysis of the Position of Antenna on a Scaled Vehicle by Using Characteristic Modes Theory

摘要

In this paper, the position of the antenna on metallic vehicle is studied by using the theory of characteristic modes. In order to reach higher gain at the horizontal plane, the position of a monopole on the metallic vehicle is optimized according to the characteristic currents on the surface of the vehicle. Scaling size (40:1) metallic vehicle and the monopole antenna is designed and fabricated. Simulating frequency is around 1200 MHz. Simulated results of the model are presented to verify the design concept.
