摘要

A parametric mechanics model is presented to characterize the multi-scale stick-slip frictional contact behavior of rough surface. The contact surface is assumed to be covered with random distribution asperities. At micro scale, the surface roughness is described by Kragelsky-Demkin rough contact mechanics, and the contact formulation of a single asperity with rigid plane is modeled with the Mindlin elastic contact solution. Statistical analysis is then applied to integrate the asperity contact formulations over the rough contact surface to obtain the relations of the macro-scale tangential displacement with force and interface energy dissipation respectively. The model is compared with the previous smooth contact model and the effect of roughness parameter on the tangential friction behaviors is investigated. The results show that the proposed model can be used to model the multi-scale stick-slip frictional contact behavior of rough surface. The roughness parameter has an important effect on the tangential contact stiffness and interface energy dissipation.
