A new coupled meshless local petrov-galerkin and finite element (MLPG-FE) method for electromagnetic field computations

摘要

Based on an analysis of advantages and disadvantages of existing coupled meshless and finite element methods, a new coupled Meshless local Petrov-Galerkin and finite element (MLPG-FE) method is proposed for the application into electromagnetic field computations. A transition region between the meshless and the finite element method is defined and a new ramp function is chosen in the proposed technique. Comparing with the traditional coupled method, the new method can maintain the continuity of the variable and its derivative simultaneously. Moreover, it can exactly impose Dirichlet boundary conditions. The numerical results of solving electromagnetic problems are presented.
