A multi-processes couple based approach to adaptive NC machining for complex aerospace components

摘要

It is necessary to couple multi-processes in the mass production of complex aerospace components. Due to there are different datum position and inevitable distortion existing in different processes, the nominal CAD model from the design stage is no longer suitable for the final milling process. This becomes a main problem for precisely machining complex components. In this paper, an adaptive NC machining method with on-line measurement is proposed and developed for aerospace industries. Firstly, according to the selected feature points acquired from on-line measurement, a matching algorithm-based transform matrix is set up for the orientation correction. Secondly, with the morphing technology and distortion compensation research, an adaptive model is constructed, which aims to solve the part-to-part variation machining problem and to realize precision machining for complex geometry parts. Finally, based on the reconstructed model, tool paths used for the last NC machining process can be adaptively generated to implement the multiprocesses work. Example shows that the approach is feasible and the result is with high precise tool path and efficiency.
