Abstract
A relationship between Mach angle and Mach number is derived, more concise than that derived by Bond et al in 1965. In the derivation by Bond et al, a potential function was introduced in wave equation, but its physical meaning was not discussed. It was only mentioned that potential function was related to the air pressure exerted on supersonic body. In the paper, it is deemed that this air pressure is actually caused by collisions of air molecules with the surface of the object, which lead to a momentum transfer between it and air.
