The Simulation Relations between Variable-section Cantilever and Time-variable Control System

Abstract

In this paper, based on the substructural chain in structural mechanics and the LQ control problem in optimal control, the identical mathematical expressions for structural mechanics and time-variable control system are obtained with the help of the variational principle, then a conclusion is drawn: the time-variable LQ control problem can be entirely simulated by the variable-section cantilever, which will lay the foundation for applying the methods in structural mechanics to the time-variable control systems.
