Abstract

Recently, significant research has been conducted into the development of design environments, in which complex multidisciplinary design problems can be solved. Some design environments developed carry weight on different aspects. This article represents the characteristics of another design environment - MDOF (Multidisciplinary Design Optimization Framework). In MDOF, designer can utilize legacy codes and proprietary codes without modifying. With hierarchical and thread managing mode, MDOF supports many multidisciplinary optimization architecture, such as CO, CSSO and MDF. Additionally, distributed and parallel computational architectures can also be supported. Center Database Manage System (CDMS) in MDOF make designer access data information and monitor the execution process conveniently. In the end of this article, by integrating a rocket design problem in MDOF, the efficiency of MDOF was confirmed.
