Abstract
Dynamic load is the basis for evaluating the vibration fatigue properties of engineering structures. In most cases, it is difficult to directly measure the external dynamic loads acting on a vibrating structure. Thus research on the dynamic load identification methods plays an important role in many engineering fields. In this paper, we first summarize the basic principles of dynamic load identification. We classify the dynamic load identification methods into two categories, i.e., those for deterministic structures and those for structures with uncertainties. Then we review the advances in the study of dynamic load identification methods for these two kinds of structures achieved in recent years, respectively. Some open problems and future research topics on dynamic load identification are discussed.
