Abstract

To calculate the stress distribution at labiocervical margin of porcelain-fused-to-metal restoration model where stress concentration occurred. The infinite element method is used to analyze the two-dimensional porcelain-fused-to -metal model with finite element method to find the important facts that affect the bonding strength of metal-ceramic systems. D-N interactive method was used to connect the finite and infinite domains. The result demonstrate that the model with unit of porcelain to metal at the labiocervical margin is suitable for front teeth or premolars restoration; The stress concentration along the interface of metal-ceramic is the most important fact to the failure of bond; The occlusal force should be adjust in clinic to avoid the fraction of porcelain from metal.
