Texture characteristics of pack ply-rolling Ti-6A1-4V alloy sheets and its mechanical properties

Abstract

The influence of the pack ply-rolling process and the heat-treatment on the texture characteristics of Ti-6Al-4V alloy sheets was studied .The tensile properties and fatigue properties of sheets with different type textures were measured. The results show that the alloy sheets with a single type texture (B or T) exhibits lower fatigue strength compared with the mixed texture (B/T). The sheet with B type of exhibits an isotropy and its elastic modulus and yield strength are lower than those of the other condition.
