Switch control system of liquid infiltration and extrusion process of composites

Abstract

Liquid infiltration and extrusion process, as a method of forming composite tube, bar products from liquid metal in a single process, is a kind of new metal forming technology, which has been developed in recent years. But it is difficult to control the process of the semi-solid extrusion as well as the quality of the extruded products. For solving the problem, the switch control system is explored for the process. The corresponding visual software for this system is programmed based on Windows 98 and C++ Builder5.0. Based on this system, the data can be on-line collected, and three groups of parameters can be displayed in the same time, so that the key parameters can be monitored and the extruding process can be manipulated by inputting processing parameters or the actual state. The experimental results shows that this system for semi-solid extrusion composite process is more reliable and easier to operate for further application.
