Abstract

This paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the following methods for collision detection: (1) four-dimensional CSG method; (2) bin-tree method; (3) sweeping method; (4) B-rep method; (5) octree method. It is found that Cameron's method is to be preferred chiefly because it can give the precise time and precise position when collision occurs.
