Abstract
The purification treating of multi-wall carbon nano-tubes is carried by using strong acids and strong oxidants, i. e. concentrated HCl, concentrated HNO 3, H 2SO 4/HNO 3, bromine water and K 2Cr 2O 7/H 2SO 4. The structures and the properties of the products before and after modifying are characterized and measured by using XRD, FTIR and TEM. The results show that the purification modification treation can remove the impurities on the surface of MW-CNTs, cut MW-CNTs short and make the contents of hydroxyl, carboxyl and carbonyl groups increase.
