Abstract

The microstructure and mechanical properties of superalloy by laser rapid forming (LRF) from powder have been investigated in the paper. The results show that the precipitation of γ′ is restrained during the LRF process, which is displayed that the volume fraction of γ′ precipitation is small and the average sizes of γ′ fine remarkably. It has been found that prolonging aging time is help to the grow up of tiny γ′ on the basis of heat treatment process (1165°C, 2 h/SQ+760°C, 16 h/AC). As a result, the ultimate strength of the sample with solution-aging microstructure reached 89% of that by P/M+HIP process, and the yield strength approaches to the value obtained by P/M+HIP.
