Abstract

The effect of Nb content on cold workability and the drawing The effect of Nb content on cold workability and on tensile properties of Cu-Nb composites were studied. The experimental results show that the Cu-Nb composites with Nb≤20 vol.% can be cold worked and the ultimate strength and the conductivity after cold working are ≥700-800 MPa (ε=6) and above two thirds of OFHC-Cu respectively. The microstructures of the cold drawn Cu-Nb composites were observed with metalloscope. In addition, some other aspects with regard to the properties of Cu-Nb composites were also discussed in this paper.
