Abstract

Aging precipitation of Cu-0.3Cr-0.15Zr-0.05Mg alloy was investigated by energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and transmission electronic microscopy (TEM). The results show that the fine precipitates of Cr, Cu4 Zr and ordered CrCu2 (Zr, Mg) are observed in the alloy aged at 470°C for 4 h. Along the grain boundary chromium is found. Properties of the aged alloy are improved due to the fine precipitates. The hardness of HV 109-108 and the electric conductivity of 79%-80% IACS are available for the alloy aged at 470°C for 4-6 h.
