Abstract

When three-stage aviation brushless synchronous motor is excited by single-phase AC during the starting period, the excitation current of the main generator contains pulsating components, and the electromagnetic and mechanical coupling between the main generator and exciter is serious. The adoption of traditional control method based on single motor model for starting control leads to the motor torque with larger ripple, and makes the starting with load difficult. A starting control strategy under unstable current excitation was presented, based on the analysis of the output characteristics of exciter and the research of the integration model considering exciter and main generator in starting period. Experiment results verify that this method is insensitive to the excitation pulsating disturbance, and great improvement is achieved in the stability and load capacity of motor state.
