Abstract

In order to analyze the stability of cracks in the nozzle made of silica phenolic resin molded composite subjected to pressure loading, pattern I fracture toughness test was carried out to get the J-integral data of the material. The sample design and fabrication, testing parameter, data processing etc. were discussed in detail. Finally, the stability of nozzle cracks in a rocket motor was analyzed by using ABAQUS soft to get the safety coefficient based on breaking parameters. The static firing test results confirm that the approach is applicable in engineering experience.
