Abstract

The concept of the high power microwave (HPM) short-duration pulse radar may have the wonderful possibilities as the rapid development of HPM techniques. Though analysis, short-duration pulse HPM radar will have the advantages of high ability in ECCM, long range detecting ability, high range resolution and high ability detecting targets in the heavy scatter background. The DSP method will be relatively simple. In this paper, the function, structure and constitution of the short-duration pulse radar experimental system which has been developed is presented. The method of creating, transmitting and receiving of the short-duration pulse microwave signal is explored. The high range-resolution detection experiment for the air-target and the ground-target is also preliminarily studied.
