Abstract

Based on mathematic models of flight trajectory and mass analysis, payload mass sensitivity of RBCC-powered cruise vehicle was analyzed. The effects of specific impulse, launch Mach number, launch height, modal transition Mach number and inert mass coefficient of motor were taken into account principally. The analysis results show that the increase of specific impulse, launch Mach number and launch height, as well as the decrease of modal transition Mach number and inert mass coefficient are favourable for improving payload mass of cruise vehicle, moreover payload mass is the most sensitive to inert mass coefficient. When inert mass coefficient is decreased by 7.3% or increased by 7.3%, payload mass is increased by 58% or decreased by 103.7% respectively.
