Abstract

A concept of role analysis is presented. The role analysis extends the traditional use case analysis in the area of actor properties investigation. The role analysis algorithm forms required images of actors based on given use cases and technical constraints. The algorithm can be used to determine required skills of system users and to form images of external systems that interact with the designed one. The idea of role analysis can be applied both in software and generic technical systems design. This paper provides an example in which a preliminary image of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UA V) electronic warfare (EW) system is being constructed using the proposed algorithm.
