Abstract

A sol-gel synthesis method was introduced to incorporate trivalent samarium ions into perovskite CaTiO3 nanoparticles luminescent materials. The resulting materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The properties of luminescence of Sm3+ in the sample were studied by measured electroluminescence and photoluminescence, Sm3+ can emit salmon pink light brightly. However, the patterns of EL and PL are not the same. After analyzing the test results, we think there are two crystal structures: SiteI and SiteII, and analyzed the influences of different structures on EL and PL, the EL mainly depended on the Sm3+ in SiteI, the PL mainly depended on the Sm3+ in SiteII, and validated the influences of matrixes' structures on luminescence of Sm3+ with experiments.
