Abstract

Mesoporous TiO2 electrode material was prepared by EISA (evaporation induced self-assembling) and then it was coated on the surface of ITO conductive glass and sensitized by adsorbing xanthophylls after calcining. The investigating about photoelectrochemical properties shows that this mesoporous TiO2 electrode sensitized by xanthophyll possesses high photoelectochemical activity with a open-circuit photovoltage of 594 mV, though the xanthophyll doesn't have photoelectrochemical activity in plant.
