Abstract

Taking zinc acetate and TAA as precursors, dehydrated alcohol as dispersing medium, and ODA as dispersant, monodispersed ZnS nanoparticle with diameter of less than 50 nm have been successfully synthesized via a facile homogeneous precipitation method. Furthermore, we have researched the influence of temperature, dispersant concentration, solution concentration, and aging time to the diameter of ZnS nanoparticle. The asprepared products were characterized by SEM, laser particle size analyzer, XRD, PL, and EL. Results reveal that the products fabricated with appropriate surfactant concentration and proper solution concentration under the temperature of 0 °C with aging time of 24 h were of small mean diameter and high crystallinity. It is found that the dried and annealed samples excited by 275 nm UV lights and 2 kV (1 mm sample) high-voltage showed glaucous and green emissions with the peak at about 495 nm and 520 nm respectively.
