Abstract
The precipitation behavior of silicides in Ti-B19 titanium alloy during solution and aging treatment was studied by optical microscope, transmission electron microscope and X-ray diffractometer. The results show that a small quantity of coarse plate-like silicides, combined closely with β matrix, was observed in β phase after solution treatment at 900°C. After aging treatment, the quantity of silicides didn't increase obviously but the precipitates changed into hexagonal structure. Based on the analysis of TEM selected area electronic diffraction pattern, it's assumed that the silicides is (Ti, Zr) 5Si 3, with hexagonal structure. Compared with the silicides before aging treatment, the silicides after aging treatment had little change in size and didn't combined with β matrix tightly.
