Abstract

The paper proposes a new method to determine the position of the surface cruiser at low speed using only three frames of image information acquired by the camera on the satellite. For the target of approximate fixed height and uniform speed, it is firstly established the geometric relationship model of the satellite position and the position of the cruiser related to the centre of the earth and the sight information of the camera on satellite, then the calculation model of the position of the cruiser based on the height information of the cruiser related to the centre of the earth. Then, based on the uniform speed assumed, the position constraints at the different moments of the cruiser are established. Finally the height information satisfied the constraint is searched by the exhaustive method to determine the position information of the cruiser at different times. The simulation solution shows that to hundreds of meter-heights target the error of its height positioned are mostly 200 to 500 meters, so it is suitable for targets at medium and high altitude.
