Abstract

The steady and unsteady combustion models are very important to study the pressure coupled response of composite propellant at middle-low frequency, and the reliable result of steady calculation is the premise of unsteady calculation. The value of parameters used in the combustion model of solid composite propellant has great effect on the burning rate of propellants, but there are few researches about it at present. A steady combustion model of AP/HTPB composite solid propellant was developed based on the BDP combustion model, and the model was calculated by numerical method to analyze the effect of not only pre-exponential factor and activation energy of AP and HTPB but also parameter δ on the burning rate of propellants. The calculated results show that the burning rate is more sensitive to the activation energy of AP and this effect can be enhanced under high pressure; the pre-exponential factor and activation energy of HTPB have little effect on burning rate, but the effect of activation energy increases under higher pressure; δ has great effect on the burning rate of propellants, and it must be determined carefully according to the requirement requirement of the model and combustion conditions.
