Abstract

During the uniaxial tension experiment of woven composite specimen, the nonlinear behavior is observed. The stress distribution in plies depends on the location of the ply, which results in damage process in laminate. Based on the periodic structure of the woven GFRP, the detailed meso-scale multi-layered FE model is established with RVE in order to obtain the stress distribution in different layers. The results indicate the behavior of RVEs for surface layers is different with that of the inner layers due to different constrains.
