Numerical simulation of plastic deformation wear rate of materials under three-body abrasion

Abstract

Monte Carlo method was applied for simulating plastic deformation are rate of materials under the three-body abrasion using ball-like abrasive particles. A Monte Carlo modeling was proposed combining contact mechanics, low cycle fatigue accumulated damage mechanics. Wear rate of different materials was computed by the proposed model. Three-body abrasion using ball-like abrasives was carried out to verify the present modeling. The results show that the simulation data match with the experimental data quite well.
