Abstract
A kind of high-density carbon/carbon composite reinforced by the carbon fibre and axial carbon rod mix weaved 3D 4-Directional perform is prepared by the process of high-pressure pitch impregnation and carbonization (HIPIC). The microstructure and fracture micrograph are studied with scanning electron microscopel (SEM) and optical microscope (OM). The mechanical properties of the material are examined by tensile tests, impact tests and three-point bending tests, respectively. The results show that the 3D 4-directional carbon/carbon composites have fine structure and favorable mechanical properties and the primary failure mode of the materials is pseudo plastic fracture.
