Abstract
On the basis of phase and microstructure selection in bulk undercooled Fe-B eutectic alloy melts, an extension of the eutectic zone and transformation from lamellar to anomalous eutectic are interpreted. In combination with a competition between metastable Fe3B and stable Fe2B above a critical undercooling, a selection map of eutectic zone as function of composition and temperature is given.
