Abstract

In this review paper, the structures and properties of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were introduced. The research progress in mechanical properties of CNTs reinforced polymer matrix composites, metal matrix composites and ceramic matrix composites were reviewed, then the strengthening and toughening mechanism and the main problems/challenges existed in the CNTs/ceramic matrix composites were analyzed emphatically.
