Mechanical mesh model retrieval based on sequential sectional drawings(II)

Abstract

To support mechanical mesh model retrieval, two shape descriptors were presented. One descriptor focused on representing shape region of sectional drawings which named Principal Sectional Drawing Moment Fourier Descriptor(PSD-MFD). The other one named Segment Distribution Histogram(SDH)focused on shape contour. Moreover, a scene-retrival-oriented method named Framework for Temporal Similarity(FTS)was introduced to model retrieval and a distance measurement based on principal sectional drawing was given. Results from the retrieval experiment demonstrated the feasibility and effectiveness of two descriptors and the distance measurement.
