Abstract

To satisfy special requirements on manufacturing resources in networked manufacturing environment, with reference to aviation industry standard, manufacturing resource was multidimensionally analyzed from their life cycle, application view and polymerization degree. The multidimension model of manufacturing resources was formalized by Web Ontology Language (OWL) according to resource description method recommended by international World Wide Web confederacy, and the networked ontology model of multi-hierarchy, multi-view and life-cycle manufacturing resources information was constructed via ontology modeling tool developed by Stanford University. Finally, the mutual transformation of manufacturing resources information between OWL neutral file and relationship database was completed by ontology application programming interface from HP Labs of semantic Web, and then distributed manufacturing resource data management base was set up to support the integration and sharing of manufacturing resource information based on networked manufacturing environment.
