Abstract

Sections 1, 2 and 3 of the full paper explain our theoretical and simulation research on dual-redundancy BLDCM (brushless DC motor). Their core consists of: (1) section 1 briefs the relevant information about mathematical modeling; (2) according to the winding fault of permanent magnet BLDCM, redundancy technique is brought into the motor design and then two structures of dual-redundancy BLDCM are designed; (3) eqs. (4) and (6) can be used for calculating voltage and torque respectively; (4) the magnetic-thermal coupling analysis model is established; (5) we give simulation results in Figs. 3 through 11 and then analyze them. The above-mentioned simulation results and their analysis show preliminarily that: (1) the two structures of the dual-redundancy BLDCM can achieve good dynamic characteristics; (2) the two types of motor windings improve system reliability without bringing bad results.
