Abstract

The experimental investigation of mechanical chocking aided ignition and fLame stability in RBCC ramjet mode were carried out on the direct connect combustor experimental bench at the National key laboratory of combustion, flow and thermo-structure of NPU. The simulating flight Mach number is 2.5. The combustor is a dual-mode extended combustor with multi-staged JP-10 injection. A reliable ignition was implemented with mechanical chocking at the engine exit when the strut rocket is working, and the fLame stability could be attained without the ethylene guide fLame. The investigation here lays a fine foundation for the implementation of a stable high efficient combustion based the thermal throat in RBCC ramjet mode.
